Documentation of Academic Progress and Tuition Fees

The students must submit new documentation from their educational institutions every year. - Sist oppdatert: 25.03.2011

Academic progress and tuition fees

The State Educational Loan Fund (in Norwegian: Lånekassen), have created a form for this purpose (please see bottom of page), and it is intended that the educational institutions fill in the information needed about academic progress and tuition fees. If the educational institution prefers to write it’s own statements, it is important that they contain exactly the same information as requested in form C.

Necessary controls

Students in Norway are submitted to a rather strict control of academic progress, since the Norwegian educational institutions report their academic results directly to Lånekassen.

We also monitor the students abroad and their academic progress and paid tuition fees every year during the academic programs.

Legal obligation

In addition, all students abroad are being checked at the end of their educational programs, and this control has unfortunately revealed some irregularities among the students.

All students who receive financial support from Lånekassen have a legal obligation to give correct information, and to give notice whenever a change in earlier given information occurs.

Historically, the Norwegian system of financial support has been largely based on a principle of trust between the students and Lånekassen. Due to the irregularities mentioned above, we have had to introduce strict controls of all students from the academic year 2008–2009.

Appreciate assistance

We would very much appreciate your assistance in this matter, especially towards the students, by issuing the necessary academic transcripts and confirmations of tuition fees, and by filling in the form C.
