Documentation requirements when applying for the deletion of interest

If you are applying for the deletion of interest on the basis of unemployment, AAP or education, you do not need to submit any documentation.

You will be notified in your application about the documentation that you may need to submit. It is easy to upload such documentation as attachments to your application, and you can also upload the documentation after you have submitted your application.

There are exceptions if you live abroad. If so, you must then submit documentation from the job centre/social security office in your country of residence. If you are a student, you must submit documentation from your educational institution.

Birth and adoption

You do not need to submit documentation if you have the same address as the child in the Population Register.

If you are not registered at the same address as the child, you must submit documentation showing that you live together for at least 40% of the time (for example, a joint custody agreement signed by both parents)

Illness

You must submit a medical certificate or sick note confirming that you have been ill and are unable to work.

Compulsory military service

You must submit confirmation of your compulsory military service, stamped and signed by the defence authorities. You can use your Demobilisation Certificate.

Care work

You must send us documentation from your doctor, other health authority or NAV showing that you for a period of at least three months, work as a carer for the equivalent of at least 50% of a full-time job. If you receive attendance allowance, you can submit confirmation of this as your documentation.

Social welfare support

You must submit confirmation from NAV showing the period for which you have received financial benefits under the Norwegian Social Welfare Act, and that this has been your only source of income.

Low income from full-time work

If you have been in ordinary employment, you must submit confirmation from your employer about the period during which you had full-time work, and about your gross monthly income during that period.

If you are self-employed, you must inform us about your company registration number with the Brønnøysund Register Centre, attach a copy of your tax statement (assessment) for the years for which you are applying for the deletion of interest, and attach a copy of any agreements/timesheets/payslips/invoices, etc. that show that you have actually worked full-time for your company.

If you are an artist, you must submit documentation showing that you have worked as a full-time artist. This could include copies of agreements, timesheets, payslips, invoices and personal statements, etc. If you are a member of an occupational organisation for artists, and/or are registered with the Brønnøysund Register Centre, you should provide documentary proof of this as well.

Honorary student posts

You must submit confirmation from your organisation that shows any posts you have held, how long you held them for and whether or not they were full-time posts.

Imprisonment

You must submit confirmation from your prison or the detention facility showing your period of imprisonment.
