How much can I receive?

If you are an apprentice without statutory rights as a young person, or “adult apprentice”, you may receive up to NOK 137,907 in loans for the full school year.

When you are an adult, you receive basic support

Basic support is what most people call a student loan, and which all students are entitled to. As an apprentice without statutory rights as a young person you may receive basic support of up to NOK 137,907 for the entire year, if you are a full-time apprentice.

Your loan will be based on your percentage of full-time equivalent

If you work part-time as an apprentice, your loan will be reduced.

The loan is interest-free for as long as you are receiving grants and loans for full-time education

You must start to repay the loan when you no longer receive grants and loans for full-time education. The loan is interest free for as long as you receive educational support for full-time studies.

You receive payments for 11 months

Apprentices receive loans for 11 months of the year. You may receive a grant from August to June, but you must still remember to apply every year.
