Apprentice

Who has statutory rights as a young person?

Most apprentices have statutory rights as a young person. This means that you are entitled to upper secondary education until the end of the school year in which you turn 24.

The information also applies to those who are candidate apprentices, vocational training candidates or candidates for letters of completed apprenticeship at work.

Who does not have statutory rights as a young person?

If you are above the age of 24 or have completed upper secondary education, you no longer have statutory rights as a young person. You may receive loans and grants from Lånekassen, but only in accordance with the same rules that apply for university and university college education.

The information also applies to those who are candidate apprentices, vocational training candidates or candidates for letters of completed apprenticeship at work.
